The CLARIS filter cartridge also has a depot at its lower end with natural active ingredients that stabilize the water in the tank and thus reduce limescale deposits in the area of the tank base. This works without any additional energy or action, only through the natural movement of the water in the tank, through which it always flows easily through the depot. The upper part of the CLARIS filter cartridge for coffee preparation continues to filter the exact amount of water required for a perfect cup of coffee by means of ion exchange and activated charcoal using the upflow principle.

Thanks to RFID technology, the fully automatic machine also recognizes whether a filter is inserted and automatically activates the corresponding mode. It continuously collects information on filter usage and reports when the capacity is exhausted. This not only makes changing the filter easier than ever, but also allows CLARIS Smart+ to develop its full effectiveness.

Automatic filter recognition
JURA uses modern RFID technology to enable a dialogue between the filter and fully automatic machine. Every machine with the intelligent water system (I.W.S.®) automatically recognizes when a filter is inserted, automatically switches to filter mode and starts rinsing. If the filter capacity is coming to an end, the fully automatic machine indicates that the filter needs to be changed. If this is not done, the appliance activates descaling mode. After appropriate use, the request for descaling appears. And this can only be done with the filter removed. Incorrect manipulations resulting from misunderstandings are therefore a thing of the past.
